More than a record label, Bedroom Community is a movement born from the studio. The work moves between composition, production and performance — from Reykjavík to the wider world.

About
the label
Founded in Reykjavík in 2006 by Icelandic composer and producer Valgeir Sigurðsson, together with American composer Nico Muhly and Australian-Icelandic producer Ben Frost, Bedroom Community gathered like-minded artists determined to reimagine how music could be created, recorded and shared.
From its home at Greenhouse Studios, the label became a vessel for new ideas. The studio itself is treated as a creative instrument: a place where classical composition, experimental electronics and pop production can meet without fixed borders.
Its artists work across contemporary music for orchestra, film, television, theatre, dance, opera, games and art installations. The collective has also come together for rare live projects, including sold-out performances at the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Walt Disney Concert Hall and Philharmonie de Paris.
