Manchester Collective
Formed in 2016, Manchester Collective are a chamber ensemble whose programmes connect contemporary music and classical repertoire with electronics, folk traditions and staged performance. Their musicians work closely with composers and collaborators, performing in concert halls, warehouses and clubs.
Their Bedroom Community catalogue began with the EP Recreation (2020), followed by The Centre is Everywhere (2021), Shades (2022), featuring string quartets by Edmund Finnis, and Neon (2023).
Collaboration also shapes their live work. Constellations (2026), directed by Rakhi Singh, brought the ensemble together with percussionist Sidiki Dembélé and his band for a programme combining West African music and storytelling with works by Emily Hall, Edmund Finnis and Nwando Ebizie.
