Council

Council is the collaborative project of American singer-songwriter and composer Gabriel Kahane and Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto.

The pair first met in 2015 and, after a series of performances and writing retreats between Finland and the United States, formalised their collaboration as Council. Their debut album, This Day, Every Day, brings Kahane’s warm harmonies and Kuusisto’s restless, whispering violin into a shared space shaped by vulnerability, curiosity and a sharply contemporary view of the world.

Recorded with longtime collaborator Joseph Lorge across sessions in Finland, the United States and Iceland, the album marks Council’s first recording for Bedroom Community. Explore the Council release.
