Treading a similar dark and sorrowful path is Dreamland (**** Bedroom Community) by Björk collaborator VALGEIR SIGURDSSON. It's the soundtrack to a documentary about the recent rises and falls of Iceland's fortunes. The difference here is a larger orchestral palette, more drama and a touch more experimentation. Somehow, it manages to sound all avant-garde and normal at the same time, which is quite a feat. In many places it's a joy, albeit quite a painful and maudlin one.
