Whale Watching Tour, Spring 2010

Sam Amidon*, Ben Frost, Nico Muhly and Valgeir Sigurðsson return with this wondrous concert-series through Europe, starting at Berlin’s Admiralspalast on the 18th April and ending in The National Theater in Reykjavík on 16th May.**

As on last year’s Whale Watching Tour, the Bedroom Community artists will be accompanied by Helgi Jónsson (vocals and trombone), Borgar Magnason (double-bass), Una Sveinbjarnardóttir (violin) and Nadia Sirota (viola).

Daníel Bjarnason will be a special guest on May 16, opening the show in Reykjavík.

*Sam Amidon is not performing on the shows from May 2—8. **Valgeir Sigurðsson, Sam Amidon and Daníel Bjarnason will appear in a special WWT-appendix on June 4—5, in Tallin and Moscow respectively.

Valgeir in Paris - March 28th

Valgeir Sigurðsson will be playing a solo show in Paris this coming Sunday at La Flèche d'or.

He will be sharing a bill with his longtime friend and collaborator Hildur Guðnadóttir (pictured), who’s last album Without Sinking (Touch) was mixed by Valgeir. Hildur in turn provided her haunting cello to the Draumalandið album, featuring most prominently on the tracks “I offer prosperity and eternal life” and “Beyond the Moss”.
