Bedroom Community is an Icelandic record label/collective formed in 2006 by Valgeir Sigurðsson, with Nico Muhly and Ben Frost, later adding Sam Amidon, Daníel Bjarnason, Puzzle Muteson, Paul Corley, Nadia Sirota and James McVinnie to the intimate roster.
Like-minded, yet diverse individuals from different corners of the globe all creatively orbit around an inconspicuous building and its inhabitants on the outskirts of Reykjavík Iceland - Greenhouse Studios - where the music is mostly created.
Both Bedroom Community and Greenhouse Studios offer internships.

We are generally not looking for demo submissions, due to the simple fact that we already have a roster that needs all our attention and energy.
Keeping this in mind, you are welcome to send demos to us, just remember that Bedroom Community is a collective of a close-knit group of individuals and as such we have enough music that we need to put out already. But we try to give everything we receive a listen because we respect your effort in sending us your music, and well... you never know. We try to reply to everyone, however, we cannot promise a response - but rest assured that If we like something enough to release it you will hear back from us. In the meantime, here are some helpful tips to keep in mind when sending your music: We prefer demos sent as links to a stream, instead of CDs or attachments for downloading. Make sure to include the name of the project and your contact info so we know how to find you if we need to. Choose only 2-4 'key tracks', it's not necessary to send a full album to begin with. Compile what you feel best represents what you're doing and send that. If you send a full length record or a long compilation, it's helpful to highlight a couple tracks for suggested listening.
We hope you are interested in Bedroom Community as a label in itself, not just a random label that might release your own music. So buy our releases and listen to what we do, take some time and read about our label and the artists behind it, just like you'd hope that others would do if you were on the label. Don't waste your time nor ours on sending us music if it has no aesthetic relationship to what we do here. Best of luck!
Our own online store is right here, it’s easy and safe to shop for instantly downloadable MP3s, or CDs which are dispatched same day. (It’s a good idea to support independent artist and labels by obtaining the releases directly from the source).
If you can’t find our music or have a suggestion to where our music should be available, please email us.
