Mothertongue is Nico Muhly’s 2nd album for Bedroom Community, his debut album Speaks Volumes was also our very first release.
Mothertongue features 3 works, each composed for a different vocalist: Abigail Fischer, Helgi Hrafn Jónsson and our very own Sam Amidon.

Sam and Valgeir head out on a joint-headline tour that starts tonight (Saturday, May 10th) in Reykjavík, Iceland. Both artist will be performing full sets from their recent Bedroom Community albums All is Well andEkvílibríum, respectively.
In a true Bedroom Community fashion Valgeir will join Sam’s line-up and vice versa, and they will also be accompanied by 3 Icelandic musicians: Una Sveinbjarnardóttir on violin/mandolin, Sigríður Sunna Reynisdóttir on accordion/electric piano and Rebekka Bryndís Björnsdóttir on bassoon/cello.

Having completed a busy winter of projects including a collaboration with New York sound artist Bora Yoon for the vinyl based publication Journal of Popular Noise, a score for the Australian Chunky Move Dance Company's new production Mortal Engine in collaboration with Interactive systems designer Frieder Weiß and Laser/sound artist Robin Fox, and a score for the feature film How To Change In 9 Weeks Ben is now back home in Reykjavik writing his much anticipated and as yet untitled new album: its coming along slowly but surely!
